The
site is a creation of two friends, Hanan Isachar and
Israel Talby. The company that is behind this site
is ASAP Ltd., Israel's Picture Library.
The photographer, Hanan Isachar, was born in Tel Aviv,
Israel, in 1949. After completing his studies in Mechanical
Engineering at the Tel Aviv University he embarked
on a journey throughout Europe, Latin America, the
United States and Asia, where he traveled extensively
and worked for almost two decades.
In 1993 Hanan moved back to Israel to establish Apogee
Press, a photo library. His photographs have appeared
in books and magazines in
Israel as well as worldwide, and are part of the permanent
collection of the Tel Hai Museum of Photography.
Israel's
Ministry of Foreign Affairs' exhibition, "The
Source", exclusively featuring Hanan's photographs,
is currently on a worldwide tour.
Israel Talby, a photographer-turned-enterpriser, came
up with the idea to create this site. Following the
success of the first web-site that he created, www.israelimages.com,
the Holy Land's site became an obvious follow-up.
ASAP Ltd, headed by Israel Talby is Israel's largest
picture library. The company is giving this site all
the technical, as well as logistical support to present
the finest collection of photographs of the Holy Land.
